The Doctors

Dr. Joe and Dr. Jana opened Strater Family Chiropractic in the beginning of 2008. They met each other when they first started chiropractic school and then were married in 2005.

Both doctors are trained to care for patients of all ages using many different styles and techniques depending on what works best for each patient. Other professional experience includes a 2005 trip to the islands of Fiji with fellow classmates to provide the natives of Fiji with chiropractic care for three weeks. They experienced first-hand the amazing benefits of chiropractic in a region where healthcare was practically non-existent. Both doctors also finished their clinic requirements early which allowed them to complete a 3-month internship in a chiropractic office before graduation.

Janaina C. Strater, DC

Dr. Jana is a 2006 graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 from Olivet College, MI. She was born in Minnesota but spent most of her childhood in Michigan. Dr. Jana has really enjoyed Florida's sunshine and beauty since moving to Brevard County. She is a dedicated mother and chiropractor and her experience with children really shows as she cares for pediatric patients.

Chiropractic obviously plays a big role in her current daily life but it actually played an even larger role in her upbringing. Dr. Jana was diagnosed by her primary physician with scoliosis as a teenager and given no choice but to basically wait till it was bad enough for surgery. But as fate had it, her best friend's mother was a chiropractor and Dr. Jana's mother figured why not "give it a try". As Dr. Jana received chiropractic adjustments, the curvature of the spine was greatly reduced to near perfect. This “miracle” allowed her to stay active in sports, dance, drill team, and much more throughout her childhood. Without those experiences, she feels her life would have been led down a dramatically different road. So as she helps others through chiropractic, she not only gives to patients but gives back to chiropractic.

Dr. Janaina is also an active member with the Florida Chiropractic Society (FCS).

Joseph J. Strater, DC

Dr. Joe is also a 2006 honors graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College. He received his Bachelors of Science from Florida State University. Dr. Joe was born and raised in south Florida and he loves the beaches of the east coast. He also enjoys staying active in sports and spending time with his family.

Dr. Joe worked as an associate chiropractor in Melbourne, FL for almost 2 years before opening the office with Dr. Jana. Dr. Joe's background in sports along with continuing education has given him a solid background in caring for sports injuries. He focuses on correcting spinal problems but also uses specific adjustment for the joints of the arms and legs.

Dr. Joe is currently an active member with the Florida Chiropractic Society (FCS) and the Cocoa Beach Rotary. 


Alan Willoughby, LMT (MA 55604)

Alan received his therapeutic massage certification from Anne Arundel Community College in 2008. He also holds a Bachelors of Science from Salisbury University in 2001. Alan uses a variety of massage techniques and also holds special certification in Thai Massage and Zero Balancing I and II.

His skills include Swedish, Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Therapy, Tendon Release Therapy, Muscle Energy Technique (PNF), Myofascial Release, Zero Balancing, Thai Massage (assisted stretching), Structural Integration (posture restoration), Strain Counterstrain, and Lymphatic Drainage.
